About Paphos

The resort tourism area is divided into two main areas the "Harbour" and the "Tombs of the Kings" road areas. Other areas are the "Coral Bay" area which a small area near to the Akamas Nature Reserve land.

Tomb of the Kings

Outwards from the Paphos Harbour is the Tombs of the Kings Road that leads to Coral Bay. The near-by beach is the Lighthouse beach behind the Mosaics of Paphos. It is a match smaller area than the harbour with many family run hotels, shops and restaurants and offered for a relaxing holiday at near-by from the busy main tourism area. The Old part of Paphos, has its many shops and the market place with its old traditional buildings and modern shops. Interest to this part of the town is during day-time when shops are open. The Paphos Museum, the Ethnographical museum is the most important places in this area.

Nea Paphos (Harbour) Area

This area is the busiest area. The small fishing Harbour in combination with the sites such as the Castle and the Mosaics as also other make it very popular for visiting. The Bar street is also located in this area just of the Harbour. Suggest to visit this area during the Night for a stroll or for a drink by the cafes for a quiet night or to continue in the Bar street for nightlife.

Tomb of the Kings area

Island Blue Bar & Restaurant, a friendly place at affordable prices. The food is nice as also the plate decorations. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and staff is very welcoming. Jeanette in the mornings serves breakfast which is very popular among the guests, especially the full-breakfast as also the Cyprus breakfast. Other popular are the Cyprus Sandwich and the Salads.
The evening popular meal is stifado, dolmades and other local cuisine meals cooked the Cyprus way from the Chef of the restaurant.

Fat Mamas' Restaurant, is a very popular restaurant for its big portions.
The menu includes pasta, Mexican and American dinner. Rack of ribs is the most popular dish. The service is very friendly and for people celebrating an occasion the staff is always available for an arrangement for you.
Prices are fair for the portions.

Prince of Wales bar, in an informal atmosphere the bar caters for all ages. Various Beers on offer and events such as Karaoke, Live Bands and Quiz nights the bar keeps be occupied. Other snacks on offer such as burgers, jackets, omelettes and other snacks.

Outback Pub, an Australian bar with an extensive food on offer such as steaks and salads. The bar caters for 30-50's live people and ensures a good Karaoke night with plenty of shots and singing.

Nea Paphos (Harbour) Area

Robin Hood pub, is at the Bar street decorated similar to an English Pub is a popular place. Beers sold are various from Guinness to Beck's and Stella Artois. Music is trendy with the latest hits.

Mediterranean Restaurant, is a typical Cyprus taverna offering Cyprus food such as the Clay oven Kleftiko, the Mousakka and other local dishes. Combining eating at this restaurant and then going out in the "Bar-Street" is ideal as it is located on the starting end of the road where all the clubs and the Bars are located.

Captain's View Restaurant, located on the sea-front is on the first floor overlooking the sea of the Paphos Harbour is a fairly good restaurant offering fish as much close as it can be to fresh. Combining the fish sold for fresh on the promenade next to the castle the fish offered at this restaurant would be just caught from the sea.

Red Rose Pub, at the back of the sea-promenade road this pub is popular for it's snacks and football events. Various beers offered which most are from the UK.

Pizza express, a nice Italian restaurant that cooks for the clients much more than just pizza. Located inside a small cluster of shops into the Paphos harbour road the restaurant offers good choice of food in adventurous tastes.

Fun-Bus excursion, in a Bedford bus of 1930's that was used as means of transportation for the Villages of Paphos, takes you to archeologically interesting places, culture exploration such as the villages to see the traditional life of the Cypriots and to places of natural beauty such as the Adonis Falls.

Jeep Safari, at the Natural reserve land of Akamas or the Troodos Mountains. A trip through the mountains of Troodos where life is slower than anywhere else in Cyprus while fascinate you the laces that ladies produce and their friendly treat.

Boat Trips, This trip starts from the Paphos Harbour and ends at the Coral Bay with some stops on the way for swimming. If you choose the sunset cruise, watching the sunset as you cruise is a truly nice way to finish a day.

Sub-Marine, board this sub-marine and let it take you to the deep wreckages of the Mediterranean, the Zynobia that sunk in the 1970's. The Ship is still in good shape and you can still see the cars and other that the ship was carrying to Cyprus.

Go Karts, a very nice karting is the Paphos Karting Centre with about 2000m of road with curves and bridges and very powerful go-karts.
