Scotland is renowned for its Aberdeen Angus Beef and its smoked and fresh fish. There are some dishes that are peculiar to Scotland and you shouldn’t be afraid to try them.

Cullen Skink is a hearty and delicious fish soup made from smoked haddock, potatoes, cream, and shellfish

Cranachan is an oatmeal and cream dessert which is absolutely delicious.

Scotish Cuisine

Haggis is Scotland’s national dish and is usually served with mashed potatoes and mashed turnip. However, it is also served in other ways and often appears on menus as a starter. Its nearest continental equivalent is the Greek Kokoretsi which is eaten at Easter.

Visitors have a wide variety of options and there are many excellent places to eat. It should be borne in mind that Scotland has a very strict no smoking policy and it is enforced.
